Philtre is a yet another interesting addition to the happening Sector 29, Main market, Gurgaon. They serves Modern Indian cuisines and some unmatched unique cocktail options.
The Ambience of the place is very good. Huge bar counter and nicely lit seating with different seating options. Also the quality of the furniture used is very good and comfortable. The place is not that big but they have utilized the space well. Also I really liked the floor design.
The Menu that they are having has very good and different variety of cuisines. From Soups & Salad to Starters, Mains, Desserts and even very new and logical Cocktails. They don’t serve their cocktails in glassware rather they use earthen pots, crockery and other means. The Prices I wouldn’t say that are less but are as per the competition. The staff was nice and they provided us a decent service which yes can be improved a bit.
Every Drink that we tried was very good and unique, the best were Botanical drink in Cocktails and Penne Basil in Mocktails. The best part was that you can customize your drink and change the ingredients according to your taste.
Also we had, Beetroot crisps (4/5): Nowadays many restaurants are playing with beetroot and creating good dishes, this is yet another one of those. Thinly sliced battered beetroot golden fried served with bhel and mint chuttney. Lamb Chops (5/5): One of the best and softest lamb chops that I have ever had. Melt in mouth, must try. Rajma Galouti (4.8/5): Galouti kebab made of Rajma. Very rightly flavored and presented nicely. Maggi Fish Finger (5/5): My favorite dish, fresh fish battered with Maggi and fried golden, served with tartar dip. Amazing. Butter Chicken Fondue (4.7/5): Another nice dish. Fried minced chicken fingers served with butter chicken gravy. Lucknowi seekh (4.8/5): Yummy double seekh kebab filled with cheese at the center. Amazing.
Maggi Prawns (5/5): Perfectly cooked prawns inside you very own Maggi. Must try for prawn lovers. Lamb Croquettes (4.6/5): Having nicely spiced and minced lamb inside crispy crust outside. Served with rogan josh gravy. Lovely. Chhole Chawal Bites (5/5): Nice twist to classic chhole chawal. Must try.
Also the main course was very nice specially the Falafel Curry was best and it was perfectly spiced.
In Desserts we had Litchi Rabri panna cotta (4/5): Served with Saffron foam and crispy almond tuile. Chocolate Desire (4.7/5): It had right amount of chocolate in it, was not much sweet and not much dark. Must try for chocolate lovers. Kulfi Falooda (4.8/5): Served with fresh fruits, Malai peda and Paan spheres this was very good and refreshing.
