Is “Daliya” same as Oats ?

I think this is the question what most of our friends and family members have been asking that is daliya and Oats same thing or different and if different then how. So for starter yes it is different, let’s see how.

Daliya or Porridge what we have here in India is basically made from wheat that is cooked and boiled in water or milk until it has that creamy, thick consistency. While Oats are made from Oat grain i.e avina sativa. The method to cook is pretty much the same for both of them.

Also both have good content of magnesium, iron, calcium and vitamin B-6, also a low caloric count i.e. around 350 calorie per 100 grams.

But as we all know that Oats are costlier that is because here in India Wheat grain is available in abundance as compared to Oat grain.

I hope it helped 🙂
